So, you’re getting married in Asheville?
What’s your wedding venue?
It’s daunting, I get it. Asheville has many wedding venues to choose from, and it’s usually the first step on your journey to planning your dream wedding or destination elopement. If you’re just starting the journey, then welcome, I’m Nick, Asheville Wedding Photographer, and somewhat of a mini wedding planner too. I’ve got my people, my places, my “friend-ors” as they’re called (friend-vendors), and I want to share who I think ROCKS with you. This post will be specifically about Wedding Venues I Love, but feel free to drop me a line if you need suggestions on anything else - Florists, Planners, Videographers, Live Music, etc.
I’ve organized things into 3 sections:
Firsly, Asheville Wedding Venues that I think fit under the category of “super cool, reputable and trustworthy, but just enough unknown to not be on every else’s top 10 list.” Then we have some honorable mentions: wedding venues in Asheville that are more common but deserve a shoutout because they’re just that awesome. And lastly, “A little outside of town” along with best towns to look for accommodations in for you and your guests.

A nature lovers’ paradise. Outside venue in the heart of Chunns Cove, 1.5 miles from the heart of Downtown Asheville. The Douglas Ellington House is a National Historic Landmark built in 1926 by Douglas Ellington built off of an 1850 American Cabin. Our mission is to preserve the 8.7 acres by removing invasive species and restoring the native habitat. Douglas is an internationally acclaimed architect who is known as Asheville's Boomtown Architect. He attended the Ecole de Beaux Arts in Paris, as did some of America's most acclaimed architects such as Richard Morris Hunt. Mr. Ellington was the first American to win the prize from the Ecole de Beaux Arts. One of the property’s many unique features is that it was built completely by hand. Mr. Ellington would allow no machinery on the land and was a voracious recycler, he hated waste of any kind. The Ellington House strives to reduce our events carbon footprint by eliminating single-use plastics, sourcing food locally when possible, and banning the use of dangerous chemicals such as pesticides, fertilizers, and herbicides. Our mission is to preserve this historic property in perpetuity while taking care of the environment.
Housing - Cottage at the Ellington House 2 guests. The cottage is reserved for event and elopement clients and is not available to rent on Air BNB.
Required - Weekday elopements (2-20 people total) preferred. We have suggested vendors, not required vendors.
Prohibited - Sparklers, single-use plastics, events end by 9 PM

People come to Asheville in search of unique experiences and that's where we come in. There are a lot of wedding venues in the area that share a similar theme but none are quite like JuneBug! This gorgeous property has been designed to be the ultimate wedding and event space that includes vintage camper rentals and a magical treehouse! JuneBug also has a larger ceremony space called Walnut Cove.
Housing - On-site retro campers can sleep up to 32 total.
Required - The larger venue Walnut Cove does require that you rent the campers on the weekend but not during the week.
Prohibited - Amplified music is over by 10 pm; only two cocktails per person allowed

This historic Queen Anne Victorian home or mountain view makes for the perfect romantic setting for an intimate ceremony and reception space. At the Biltmore Village Inn (not to be confused with the Village Hotel which is on Biltmore Estate property) they specialize in hosting micro weddings and elopements and can provide overnight accommodations for up to 17. They offer all-inclusive packages and work directly with their vendors making everything very easy for our couples.
Housing - On-site housing in the Inn for up to 17.
Required - Using our vendors (if they're available)
Prohibited - BYOB, Strict 10 pm end time, beer and wine only.

The Venue is one of Asheville’s most spacious indoor wedding venues. With easy access to local outdoor spaces like The Botanical Gardens at Asheville, The North Carolina Arboretum, and all the beautiful streets of downtown Asheville, it’s a great space to get the best of both worlds - outdoors and indoors. Housing - Asheville Swiss Chalets - directly across the street - have three beautiful units available to rent for your wedding weekend.

Prohibited - Outdoor noise ordinance for our area is at 10 pm, however inside we can continue the party till 11 pm.

Grand Eagle is a craftsman-style home that's nestled on 15 acres of land just outside of Asheville. It's the perfect venue for hosting private intimate weddings or elopements with the Blue Ridge Mountains as the backdrop while you say your I-Do's! Our home provides the option for an outdoor ceremony and reception.
Housing - Grand Eagle sleeps a max of 16 guests - Refer to their website for more details on the home.
Required - A 3-night minimum is required to book the home and wedding. Guests are responsible for wedding coordination, we do not provide this service.
Prohibited - No fireworks as we are located within the forest

Haiku I Do is one of Asheville's premier wedding venues located in the London District of Biltmore Village. We are a beautiful Japanese-inspired garden with 2 buildings, an all-seasons deck, Bridal dressing suite, 1961 airstream suite, & koi ponds. All of your rentals, set-up, and clean-up are included. You show up dressed and we do the rest.
Housing - None is included by the venue, but there are plenty of options within walking distance including the Grand Bohemian Hotel, Hampton Inn & Suites Asheville Biltmore Village, Courtyard by Marriott Asheville Biltmore Village, and many more.
Required - We require event insurance & for them to hire catering staff. They are welcome to bring in any vendor they would like.
Prohibited - We have a no dog policy.
